5 Ways To Take Great Care Of Your Skin This Fall

Fall is on the horizon, and you need to make sure you are taking proper care of your skin as fall approaches. Taking proper care of it will help you avoid having to deal with serious skin issues.

Way #1: Avoid Hot Showers & Baths

First, you need to avoid hot showers and baths. The cool temperatures in the fall often lead to drier skin and taking a hot shower or bath will just further dry things out. Protect your skin by taking a lukewarm shower or bath. You will still be comfortable, and your skin will not dry out any further.

Way #2: Moisturize Every Day

Second, you need to make sure you apply a moisturizer every day. There is less humidity in the air in the fall, which can cause out to lose natural moisture at a faster. Moisturizing every day will help prevent dry skin. When choosing moisturizers, consider going with an oil-based moisturizer, which will help your body more effectively retain moisturizer than a water-based moisturizer.

Way #3: Switch to a Milder Soap

Third, you need to switch the type of soap you use to wash your face. Now is not the time for a really thick intense face soap. Instead, stick with a mild face soap that will not dry out your face.

Way #4: Dress Appropriately

Fourth, you can protect your skin by dressing appropriately as the weather gets colder. Wear long sleeves, pull out your scarfs, and put on your gloves. Covering up when you go outside will help protect your skin from damage.

You should also consider wearing clothing that protects you from UV damage. Darker colored clothing absorbs more UV rays and protects your body. Also, materials such as polyester, wool, and denim protect you the most from the sun. Even in the fall and winter, the sun can still do some serious damage to your skin.

Way #5: Keep Using Sunscreen

Finally, you should keep wearing sunscreen throughout the year. The rays from the sun can damage and burn your skin all year round, not just in the summer. Keep wearing sunscreen when you go outside in the fall tie.

As the weather changes outside, you need to adjust your skincare routine. Talk lukewarm showers and baths instead of steaming hot baths. Moisturize every day, switch to a milder soap, and use sunscreen every day. Finally, make sure you dress appropriately for the weather. If you have questions about your skin, schedule an appointment with a dermatologist. They will look at any concerning skin, and provide you with advice on how to take the best possible care of your skin.

About Me

I'm Emily, Queen of Hair

When I was little, it didn't take long for me to learn how to do my own hair. I was doing my own pigtails by the time I was 3. I spent a lot of time in front of the mirror every day, and it was all just for my hair! I had the largest collection of hair bows, clips, and flowers. If YouTube existed back then, I would have spent my teenage years watching--and making!--hair tutorials. It was always my dream to go to hair school, but I ended up getting married and having a baby instead. Luckily, I have now found a way to share my love of the world of hair! Keep coming back for posts on all things hair, as well as some other beauty topics too.
